Luxurious Cottage-style Suite in Key West
The Tuckaway Cottage is literally “tucked away” between the Main House and the Caribbean Cottage. It is an addition to a single-family home constructed in the early 1900s and is easily identifiable as such by its “sawtooth” design; that is, its single-peaked roofline, abutting the original structure of similar conformation. Over the years, it has done duty as an apartment, retail space, and the production kitchen of a candy store. Its present incarnation as a luxury suite arose in 2005, when it was created as a test of the market to determine if luxury Garden Cottage Suites would be a good fit with the rest of the inn. It was so well-received that the compound has subsequently been expanded to include two more of its type (Pineapple Hideaway and Gecko’s Garden, in the Pineapple Lane Cottage).
Perfect for Romance
This very, very private suite offers you the epitome of designer luxe, but without a hint of pretension. Distinctive island elegance — refreshingly contradictory in its simultaneous simplicity and sophistication — promises you an authentic Key West lifestyle experience.
Thoughtfully conceived and creatively designed, its aura is one of indulgent retreat in a luxurious cocoon of privacy. A ceiling of bamboo and stone tile floors and bath showcase exotic Indonesian furnishings and Caribbean artwork. French doors open from the main room, which features a handsome king size sleigh bed, to a private, reed-screened porch with whirlpool-for-two, furthering the intimate ambience that sets the stage for memorable honeymoons, anniversaries, or “just because.”
When it’s got to be special … it’s got to be The Tuckaway.
