Luxurious Cottage-style Suite in Key West

Cocooned from the outside world, the Tuckaway Cottage appeals to escapists and romantics.  It is literally “tucked away” between the Main House and the Caribbean Cottage.

Originally an addition to a single-family home constructed in the early 1900s, it is easily identifiable as such by its “sawtooth” design; that is, its single-peaked roofline, abutting the original structure of similar conformation. Over the years, it has done duty as an apartment, retail space, and the production kitchen of a candy store.

Its present incarnation as a romantic luxury accommodation (if these walls could talk, they would surely blush!) arose in 2005, when it was created as our first Garden Cottage Suite. It was so well-received that the compound has subsequently been expanded to include two more of its type (Pineapple Hideaway and Gecko’s Garden, in the Pineapple Lane Cottage).

Perfect for Romance

This very, very private suite offers you the epitome of designer luxe, but without a hint of pretension. Distinctive island elegance — refreshingly contradictory in its simultaneous simplicity and sophistication — promises you an authentic Key West lifestyle experience.

Thoughtfully conceived and creatively designed, its aura is one of indulgent retreat in  luxurious sequestration. Imagine bare feet padding across cool stone tile floors under a  ceiling of bamboo reeds as you traverse your romantic hideaway, furnished with exotic Indonesian furnishings and original Caribbean artwork. French doors open from the main room, which features a handsome king size sleigh bed, to a private, reed-screened porch with whirlpool-for-two, furthering the intimate ambience that sets the stage for memorable honeymoons, anniversaries, or “just because” celebrations.

When it’s got to be special … it’s got to be The Tuckaway.
