LOCATION - Unbeatable central location -- right at the mid-point of Duval Street (the main street in the tourist district) -- within easy walking distance of all Key West attractions!
AMBIENCE - "oasis" and "haven" are words often used to describe us -- like a small, quiet, and casually elegant European hotel transported to a tropical island, exuding the sort of genuine warmth and welcoming care that says, "welcome home!"
The Tropical Inn has one of the most beautiful tropical gardens of any Key West guesthouse, featuring a fabulous freeform waterfall pool and separate, inviting spa. Its expansive size assures all guests uncrowded space for relaxation.
PARKING - Everything is within walking distance, so you will not need a car. Reserved parking for Pineapple Hideaway and Gecko's Garden is adjacent the units. For others, parking is available in a commercial lot across the street from the inn (regular rate $30; special discount for Tropical Inn guests $20). Or, there's a good chance you can find an on-street space close by at no charge. No matter what option you choose, there is a convenient loading zone just steps from the Inn's Duval Street entrance for registration parking and transferring your luggage.
ROOM APPOINTMENTS - A stylish blend of antiques, quality contemporary pieces, and distinctive imports impart an air of privacy and comfortable sophistication.
All accommodations feature luxuriously indulgent linens and spa-quality bath amenities, private bath, minifridge, AC and ceiling fan, cable TV, and outbound telephone. There is no charge for local and "800" number calls and wifi internet access. For your convenience, there's a microwave oven on the back porch of the Main House.
Many rooms have a private porch, deck, or patio. The Garden Cottage Suites are our most luxurious and romantic, featuring spas in their outdoor areas.

HISTORY AND ARCHITECTURE - The Tropical Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Historic Main House is classic vernacular style found in the Caribbean Islands and along the east coast of the United States, where seafaring owners often constructed their homes using materials and building techniques similar to those used in shipbuilding.
The three garden cottages are typical "Conch houses", originally built to house workers in the early city's cigar-making industries. They have been renovated for your comfort, in styles from seaside-cozy to exotically dramatic.
